The only problem is plant based doesn’t mean vegan. Those products often have non-vegan ingredients. We need a new word for vegan.

You’re right . . .“plant-based” isn’t always vegan, and that can definitely be confusing. We still use it sometimes because it opens the door for more people to try the food without shutting down the convo before it starts. We do need a clearer word for actual vegan food . . . just one that doesn’t scare off half the dinner table. Open to ideas!

I love "Some people hear the word vegan and their taste buds go into witness protection."

Right?! It’s like the flavor didn’t change, just their identity crisis kicked in. Glad you appreciated that one.

If I am trying to trick someone into thinking that a 'vegan' food is 'vegan', what is my purpose here? Is my concern for the other person's stomach to be full?

Maybe 'some people' should get rid of their prejudices, because there are wonderful vegan dishes, but if they continue with their prejudices, they will miss out. Does that matter to me? No. Maybe 'some men' should understand that manhood does not consist of killing and eating animals, and yes, they should feel a little threatened by this.

Anyway, in conclusion, your articles do not appeal to an 'ethical vegan' like me. And I am unfollowing.

Totally hear you. We’re definitely not about tricking people . . . more about showing how much bias shapes what folks think they’re tasting. And we 100% agree: the real goal is for people to drop the prejudice and see the value in ethical veganism.

Appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
